Pathogenic Microorganism Detection
Pathogenic Microorganism Detection
In animal facilities and transgenic units, contamination by pathogenic microorganism is increasingly present and persistent. Such contamination generates several issues that may affect the results expected by researchers, in addition to affecting the animals themselves. It has been proven that certain bacteria may affect the animal's microbiota, causing several complications that can lead to altered expression of some host genes. To maintain healthy animal colonies, the Université de Sherbrooke RNomics Platform has developed a pathogen detection test based on quantitative real-time RT-PCR and at a fraction of the price usually requested. On top of this cost reduction, we deliver a faster service allowing for an immediate action plan. To this cost reduction adds a faster service for the establishment of an immediate course of action to eliminate contamination (quarantine, antibiogram, etc.), if any, and to monitor any new contamination eclosion.
- Detection from swab transport medium.
- targeted pathogenic microorganisms:
- Pasteurella pneumotropica (Jawetz and Heyl)
- Pasteurella multocida
- Klebsiella pneumoniae
- Klebsiella oxytoca
- Development available for the detection of any other microorganism.
