It started with a love of RNA
The RNomics Platform was born in 2006 at Université de Sherbrooke, the handiwork of a handful of researchers simply passionate about RNA. Their idea was as warm as it was ambitious: gather Sherbrooke's remarkable concentration of RNA expertise into a single home that could help and guide other researchers through the sometimes-daunting world of RNA analysis.
Nearly two decades later, that small spark has grown into an essential core of the university's research fabric.

When the pandemic struck in 2020, the team pivoted overnight, running up to 800 tests a day, seven days a week in support of the CIUSSS de l'Estrie–CHUS and regional public health.

Named by bioMérieux as the country's sole, and the world's 15th, centre of excellence, now sequencing for hospitals across the Maritimes.
